About The Position
At the Johns Manville Scottsboro, AL facility, we manufacture reinforced TPO roof membrane and a selected number of TPO accessories. The plant takes all components necessary to build a TPO roof and assembles them into a system to ship directly to a distributor or building site. This role works from verbal, written, or computer-generated instructions and according to established operating procedures.
Requirements
- Must be able to tolerate heat/cold and outdoor conditions
- Good vision, hearing, speaking, and finger dexterity skills are required
- Ability to operate heavy equipment
- Ability to set up and follow simple work plans
- Communicate with co-workers
- Basic computer skills are necessary
- Employee must pass forklift and all plant related safety program tests including Handling of Hazmat Products
- Physically able to perform essential job functions

Responsibilities
- Unloads all incoming materials essential for total roofing package
- Helps coordinate other activities associated with service quality
- Unload incoming and load outbound trucks
- Complete shipping and receiving paperwork relating to materials as required
- Participate in physical inventory counts
- Loads and unloads all materials essential for shipping out roof package
- Verify orders prior to loading
- Pick and organize all items required for shipping orders
- Remove pallets of goods from inventory racking system
- Operate forklift to move materials as required
- Must be willing to assist others when needs arise
- Inspects mobile equipment and completes the appropriate checklist(s)
- Follows JSA's, uses safe work practices, and always reports hazardous conditions
- Wear protective clothing & equipment as required
- Follow all Johns Manville safety procedures and policies
