About The Position

This role is responsible for managing the flow of materials within the company, encompassing shipping, receiving, warehousing, and inventory control. The Shipping, Receiving & Warehouse Specialist will work closely with various departments to ensure efficient operations and accurate record-keeping. This position requires attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Basic computer skills and experience entering transactions into business systems.
  • Ability to read and understand purchase orders, packing lists, bills of lading, part numbers, inventory documentation, and shipping instructions.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple assignments in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively as part of a team.
  • Ability and willingness to learn company ERP/WMS systems and established operating procedures.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in shipping, receiving, warehousing, inventory control, logistics, manufacturing, or distribution preferred.
  • Experience working in a large manufacturing, distribution, aerospace, electronics, semiconductor, industrial, or technology organization.
  • Experience with Oracle or comparable ERP/WMS systems.
  • Forklift certification or previous powered industrial truck experience.
  • Experience with cycle counting and inventory reconciliation.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, or continuous-improvement principles.
  • Experience with international shipping documentation.
  • DOT/IATA hazardous-material training or experience.
  • OSHA-related warehouse safety training.

Responsibilities

  • Pick, stage, pack, label, and prepare materials and finished goods for shipment.
  • Verify part numbers, quantities, serial/lot information, packaging, and destinations before shipment.
  • Prepare and verify shipping documentation, including packing lists, bills of lading, and commercial invoices.
  • Process shipment transactions accurately within the company's ERP, WMS, or shipping systems.
  • Coordinate carrier pickups and deliveries.
  • Track and trace shipments and communicate any delays, damages, or shortages.
  • Support domestic and international shipments, including export documentation.
  • Follow procedures for hazardous materials shipments when trained and authorized.
  • Receive and unload incoming materials, supplies, and equipment.
  • Verify incoming shipments against purchase orders and documentation.
  • Inspect incoming shipments for damage or discrepancies and document findings.
  • Communicate receiving discrepancies to appropriate departments.
  • Complete receiving transactions accurately in the ERP/WMS system.
  • Route received materials to inventory, inspection, production, or other designated locations.
  • Store materials in assigned warehouse locations.
  • Pick and issue materials to production, internal departments, or customers.
  • Perform material transfers and inventory transactions accurately.
  • Maintain proper identification, labeling, segregation, and traceability of materials.
  • Ensure materials are protected from damage, contamination, or loss.
  • Maintain organized warehouse, staging, dock, and storage areas.
  • Support FIFO, FEFO, lot control, serial control, and other inventory management practices.
  • Assist with warehouse layout improvements and space utilization.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records through physical and system transactions.
  • Perform cycle counts and participate in physical inventories.
  • Investigate inventory discrepancies and assist with root-cause analysis.
  • Reconcile physical inventory against ERP/WMS records.
  • Report material shortages, damaged inventory, and other inventory issues promptly.
  • Communicate material shortages and shipment delays to relevant departments.
  • Resolve receiving and shipping discrepancies.
  • Support urgent production requirements.
  • Respond to inventory questions.
  • Provide timely shipment and material-status information.
  • Enter shipping, receiving, transfer, and inventory transactions into Oracle.
  • Maintain complete and accurate shipping and receiving records.
  • Utilize ERP/WMS systems to research inventory, purchase orders, sales orders, and material locations.
  • Use Microsoft Office applications, email, carrier websites, scanners, and barcode systems.
