Daily our Shipping & Receiving Manager is expected to safely, successfully and accurately lead the fulfillment of truckload and LTL shipments according to customer and company specifications, manage the flow of finished goods and component inventories while helping take both the people and site logistics to the next level through continuous improvement. Our mulch coloring plants consist of a single production line that colors and bags two different types of recycled rubber mulch in a variety of colors. Our rubber mulch products are used in playgrounds as a safety surface and in landscapes as an alternative to wood mulch.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2-4 years of logistics and inventory management experience.
  • Knowledge of and ability to interpret domestic and international shipping documentation.
  • Track record of supporting a high-performing team to succeed in a dynamic, fast-paced logistics and growth-oriented atmosphere.
  • Good time management skills, including ability to effectively prioritize duties and assign responsibilities.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills with a proven record of building strong relationships and collaborating with associates.
  • Keen business acumen and attention to detail with a solid record of leading change and delivering superior safety, logistics and inventory management results.
  • Working knowledge of all facets of logistics including safety, continuous improvement, team building, employee relations, customer service, purchasing and distribution.
  • Forklift operating experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related disciplines preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the safety and well-being of employees while complying with safety and transportation regulations.
  • Supervision of shipping, and receiving team, including ongoing assessment of team member performance and identification of training and improvement needs.
  • Oversee and ensure all shipments are delivered on time, accurately and to customer logistics criteria.
  • Manage and process all paperwork/document accurately and timely.
  • Evaluate logistics services providers to determine effectiveness, suggest and implement changes to improve service levels, interact with providers as needed.
  • Helps drive continuous improvement initiatives in safety, personnel development, productivity, quality, and the supply chain.
  • Communicate key developments, learnings, and challenges to facilitate best practice sharing.
  • Notifies Supervisor of any issues or problems.
