About The Position

A Shipping & Receiving Lead assigns, supervises, plans, and reviews the work of the shipping and receiving team, including materials, cost, and time estimations, as directed by the Assembly and Shipping & Receiving Supervisor. The Shipping & Receiving Lead at NPSG Global works in a collaborative, supportive, and fast-moving manufacturing environment where safety and quality are of the highest priority. The role involves performing manual work 50-70% of the time, preparing work by studying shipping instructions, parts lists, and materials, and communicating shipping instructions to team members. The lead assigns shift priorities, monitors and coaches the team on shipping requirements for work orders, and is responsible for enforcing all NPSG policies and procedures including safety, housekeeping, attendance, quality, and administration. They promote and maintain 7S in their assigned workspace. Responsibilities also include receiving shipments, inspecting contents for damage, verifying packages against orders and invoices, communicating with vendors, maintaining accurate records, assisting in inventory control, handling all aspects of the inbound process from receipts to directing put-aways, auditing receipts, and reporting discrepancies. Collaboration with the Procurement Team on inbound and outbound purchased materials and completing local deliveries as assigned are also key functions. Maintaining a safe and clean working environment is crucial. The position requires the ability to work 40-50+ hour work weeks, dependent on production needs, and perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Ability to speak, read, write, and comprehend English.
  • Minimum 2 years of shipping and receiving experience.
  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Driver’s license and clean driving record.

  • 2+ years of manufacturing experience preferred.

  • Maintain accurate records and assist in inventory control.
  • Handle all aspects of the inbound process from receipts to directing the put-aways and checking contents to ensure they match the orders.
  • Audit receipts and report any discrepancies.
  • Communicates and collaborates with the Procurement Team on inbound and outbound purchased materials.
  • Completes local deliveries as assigned.
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Ability to work 40-50+ hour work weeks, dependent on production needs.
