About The Position

Coordinates activities of workers engaged in verifying and keeping records on incoming and outgoing shipments and preparing items for shipment. This role involves studying shipping reports, bills of lading, orders, and other records to determine shipping priorities, work assignments, and shipping methods required to meet shipping schedules. The lead will oversee outgoing shipping activities to ensure accuracy, completeness, and condition of shipments, and direct the movement of shipments from the shipping platform. Responsibilities also include compiling records of unfilled orders, answering incoming calls, greeting and signing in Shipping and Receiving drivers, notifying appropriate personnel when trucks have arrived, coordinating priority loading of trucks, directing Forklift Drivers, and inspecting trailers.

Requirements

  • Must be able to speak, read and write in English.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form.
  • Basic knowledge of computers and the ability to input data into a computer.
  • Lift 50 pounds 50-100 times during the shift.
  • Stand and/or walk for the duration of the shift.
  • Use hands to finger, grip, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.
  • Talk and hear.
  • Occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
