About The Position

Sussex Wire is seeking a dependable, organized, and detail-oriented Shipping & Receiving Coordinator to join our team. In this role, you will coordinate, schedule, and complete shipping and receiving activities for inbound raw materials, finished goods, tooling, and supplies. You will also coordinate inbound and outbound deliveries with secondary processors, arrange transportation for customer orders, and complete the documentation necessary to ensure accurate and timely shipments. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator who can work independently, manage multiple priorities, and maintain accuracy in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • At least 1 year of manufacturing-related shipping and receiving experience.
  • Ability to read and write English and follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to work independently and learn new processes quickly.
  • Experience operating sit-down and stand-up forklifts; must be willing to complete in-house certification.
  • Communicate effectively using speech, hearing, and vision.
  • Wear required personal protective equipment, including but not limited to safety glasses, hearing protection, and steel-toed work boots or shoes.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with an ERP system, such as Visual or a similar system, is preferred.
  • Experience with UPS, FedEx, and DHL online shipping systems is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate incoming and outgoing shipments of raw materials, finished goods, tooling, and supplies.
  • Support the shipment of finished goods and supplies, including counting, packing, labeling, and completing work order transactions.
  • Provide precise and accurate counts, including for very small parts.
  • Schedule carrier pickups according to customer purchase orders and shipping instructions.
  • Coordinate inbound and outbound deliveries with secondary processors.
  • Prepare bills of lading and other required shipping and receiving documentation.
  • Process shipments using carrier systems such as UPS, FedEx, and DHL.
  • Review and interpret packing slips and accurately enter information into the ERP system.
  • Acknowledge receipt of goods against purchase orders and within the appropriate processing database.
  • Receive and issue raw materials to production work orders.
  • Move materials and finished goods using carts, pallet jacks, and forklifts.
  • Report defective materials or questionable conditions to Quality and Supply Chain.
  • Monitor shipping material inventory and submit requisitions to Supply Chain as needed.
  • Maintain an adequate supply of shipping materials.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area and ensure equipment is kept in proper condition.
  • Follow established company safety policies and procedures.
  • Communicate effectively and collaborate with Production, Quality, Supply Chain, Customer Service, and other departments.
  • Manage multiple tasks accurately in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
