About The Position

The Shipping and Receiving clerk verifies and keeps records on incoming and outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment by performing to quality and productivity standards.

Requirements

  • Must have basic computer skills that include Microsoft Word, Excel and the ability to learn new programs.
  • Must possess excellent customer service skills.
  • Must possess excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Must be self-motivated to handle guest, owner or team members.
  • Must have excellent organizational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Receives and inspects incoming shipments for damages or defects; records discrepancies or damages.
  • Counts items to ensure that the correct number has been received.
  • Maintains department database, prepares routine reports, and files shipping/receiving records.
  • Performs all computer functions necessary to track various aspects of packages
  • Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies
  • Traces lost shipments and/or guest claims of lost shipments; initiates proof of delivery documents.
  • Determines storage areas for incoming shipments and allocates appropriate space within the storage area.
  • Assists in physically moving incoming items to designated storage areas and supervises storage activities.
  • Delivers items to requisitioning departments and obtains authorized signatures for accepted items.
  • Maintains cleanliness and organization of storage areas
  • Perform other duties as required.
