About The Position

The Shipping & Receiving Associate is responsible for ensuring that all shipping and receiving documents are completed accurately and in a timely fashion. The Shipping and Receiving Associate communicates with warehouse staff creating pull-order paperwork and labels.

Requirements

  • HS Diploma or equivalent
  • 1-2 years previous warehouse experience.
  • Pallet jack and/or forklift experience necessary.
  • Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently.
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively and positively with customers, vendors and employees.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office & related spreadsheet and database software
  • Demonstrated attendance reliability.
  • Must be organized, able to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work overtime, as needed.
  • Must be able to lift 15-20 lbs.
  • Ability stand 100% of working shift if required by job responsibilities

Responsibilities

  • See driver check in calls, check them in and assign a dock door. Attach glad lock to the trailer.
  • Ensure drivers arrive and depart with appropriate paperwork.
  • Account for sealed trailers upon arrival and departure of trucks.
  • Assembles orders and prepares goods for shipment both incoming and outgoing
  • Records shipment data, including weight, charges and space availability
  • Help manage receiving schedule of inbound shipments for vendors
  • Reports damages and discrepancies for accounting and record-keeping purposes.
  • Completes shipping and receiving reports
  • Must account for sealed trailers upon arrival and departure
  • Using a warehouse management system (WMS) prepare accurate bills of lading for outbound freight.
  • Ensures that drivers depart with appropriate paperwork
  • Follow standards for sanitation and safety as it relates to the Safety Quality Foods requirement.
  • Follow daily practices in adherence with transportation related policies, as well as safety rules, and government regulations.
  • Attend safety stand down huddle at every occurrence of a safety incident.
  • Participate with the team when “all hands” are needed.
  • Audit warehouse supply inventory and provide needs to Warehouse Manager, weekly.
  • Liaison between Warehouse and Office staff.
  • Provide operational support on holidays, as scheduled.
  • Perform other duties, as assigned.
