About The Position

Pioneer Metal Finishing is seeking a Shipping & Receiving Clerk to join their team. This role is responsible for the receipt of incoming materials, supplies, equipment, and returned goods, as well as preparing orders for physical shipments. The ideal candidate will ensure proper counts, labeling, packaging, and administration of paperwork, adhering to all shipping practices and requirements.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.
  • Must be able to repetitively bend, lift, kneel and twist.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted.
  • Must be able to climb stairs and maneuver a forklift.
  • Must be able to sit and stand at various times throughout the day.
  • Frequent lifting, moving heavy carts.
  • Computer efficiency - particularly with Microsoft Excel.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferably able to train for 2-3 months on 1st Shift.

Responsibilities

  • Check received goods against purchase orders, freight bills, delivery tickets, etc., for part number, quantity, description, weights, and sizes.
  • Report any discrepancies or damage to customer service.
  • Accurately hand or scale count items.
  • Prepare purchase orders for subcontracting.
  • React to and expedite rush orders and other conditions that affect work output.
  • Fill out identification tags and attach them to products.
  • Check product to paperwork.
  • Use discretion for packaging based on shipping method.
  • Determine the appropriate shipping method for products.
  • Schedule common carriers for pick-ups as needed.
  • Work with the Shipping and Receiving Supervisor to determine efficient weekly truck routes.
  • Coordinate truck loading to maximize efficiency.
  • Fill out corresponding paperwork to accompany shipments.
  • Obtain credit approval from Customer Service for any shipment under question.
  • Maintain necessary clerical records pertinent to the function.
