About The Position

The Shipping/Receiving Clerk is responsible for the documentation, transportation, movement, receipt, and shipment of products, documents, packages, and parts to warehouses, customers, or internal suppliers. As required, they may provide transportation services to company personnel, including transfers between Eaton operations in Puerto Rico, the airport, and designated locations. They must comply with safety regulations, traffic laws established by the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, and company policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • High school graduate (fourth year).
  • Two (2) years of experience in a similar or directly related position.
  • Valid driver's license, category 3 or preferably category 8.
  • Knowledge and use of systems (AS400, VISTA, License Plate and AES, air and sea).
  • Effective communication with carriers.
  • Excellent interpersonal relations.
  • Punctuality and responsibility in all work areas.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Be organized and have good judgment for decision-making.
  • Maintain attention to detail in system task execution.
  • Ability to work with little supervision.
  • Teamwork.
  • Availability to work overtime, including weekends.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the documentation, transportation, movement, receipt, and shipment of products, documents, packages, and parts to warehouses, customers, or internal suppliers.
  • Provide transportation services to company personnel, including transfers between Eaton operations in Puerto Rico, the airport, and designated locations.
  • Comply with safety regulations, traffic laws established by the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, and company policies and procedures.
  • Pick up cargo to be shipped from the Production area or designated area.
  • Verify that the "Shop Pack" documentation matches the units to be processed.
  • Perform the corresponding releases, SA, and confirmations for each unit in the AS400/Vista systems.
  • Handle each release according to the corresponding shipping method (air or sea).
  • Place the Packing Slip on each processed unit.
  • Move the cargo to the corresponding containers for each carrier.
  • Store and manage all shipping-related documentation.
  • Prepare cargo manifests for sea shipments when required.
  • Generate reports as needed.
  • Coordinate shipments with carriers when applicable.
  • Receive in the system, pick up, and deliver merchandise to designated areas.
  • Verify that the "Packing Slip" matches the received package.
  • Keep documents organized and filed according to retention policies.
  • Perform receiving processes in AS400/Vista and PCS (Production Control Systems) systems.
  • Generate feeder receipts when applicable, following instructions from the Finance department.
  • Identify merchandise for inspection or with receiving problems.
  • Move and store cargo in designated areas to optimize space.
  • Handle and safeguard all receiving documentation.
  • Generate reports as required.
  • Coordinate deliveries with carriers and internal departments.
  • Follow instructions from the Supervisor, Manager, or assigned person.
  • Operate motor vehicles regularly and, occasionally, overhead floor cranes.
  • Maintain records of discrepancies in purchase orders (PO) with receiving problems.
  • Pick up documents or packages from different departments in the company and take them to their final destination.
  • Transport packages, raw materials, and/or shipments as required.
  • Ensure that packaging and documentation comply with the requirements established by the shipping company.
  • Assist in the packaging of materials and documents to be transported when necessary.
  • Provide transportation services to company personnel in compliance with the traffic laws of the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico.
  • Support the manufacturing area with the transport and pickup of parts or pieces as required.
  • Comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations and procedures.
  • Maintain a high level of confidentiality regarding business information.
  • Perform any other assigned task.
  • Occasionally operate overhead floor cranes.
  • Regularly operate motor vehicles as part of their duties.
  • Regularly operate 20'-24' trucks (License category 8) as part of their job functions.
