About The Position

The Shipping and Receiving Clerk supports the accurate and timely flow of materials into and out of the facility. The role ensures that all incoming and outgoing products are properly documented, inspected, stored, and distributed to the appropriate internal or external destinations. This position directly contributes to inventory accuracy and production continuity.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience in shipping and receiving or material handling preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of ERP or warehouse management systems, barcoding, and standard documentation practices.
  • Ability to operate forklifts or other powered industrial equipment, with certification as required.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Capability to lift and move materials in accordance with safety guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Receive incoming materials, verify quantities against purchase orders, inspect for damage or discrepancies, and accurately record receipt information in the ERP or inventory system.
  • Prepare outbound shipments by picking, packing, labeling, and processing freight documentation in accordance with customer and carrier requirements.
  • Maintain a clean and organized dock area that complies with safety and quality standards.
  • Support daily, weekly, and cycle inventory counts by locating parts, validating quantities, and reconciling variances.
  • Pull materials from stock based on pick sheets, work orders, or production schedules, ensuring correct part identification, lot traceability, and timely delivery to the designated workspace or customer order.
  • Perform system transactions for inventory movements including receipts, issues, transfers, and adjustments.
  • Communicate with purchasing, production, and quality control to resolve material issues such as shortages, nonconformances, or incorrect deliveries.
  • Assist with carrier scheduling, including loading and unloading trucks using material handling equipment such as pallet jacks or forklifts.
  • Monitor inventory storage locations to support first-in, first-out practices and maintain accurate labeling.
  • Follow all company policies related to workplace safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.
