Shipping & Receiving Clerk
About The Position
This position is part of the Shipping and Receiving department and includes cross-training in shipping, receiving, inventory, and packaging operations. Duties include labeling, packing, receiving product/inventory, and maintaining accurate records. ERP experience (GlobalShop preferred), handheld scanning devices, and Excel experience are a plus. This is a temporary-to-hire position. Candidates must complete a minimum of 480 hours worked before eligibility for direct hire consideration. The role supports production and internal departments by ensuring accurate, timely material flow while following safety and quality procedures in a clean, organized manufacturing environment.
Requirements
- High school degree or equivalent
- Mechanical aptitude
- Ability to use hand and power tools
- Ability to self-motivate
- Proven excellent communication skills
- Detail oriented to ensure quality at the source
- General computer skills or ability to learn
Nice To Haves
- ERP experience (GlobalShop preferred)
- Handheld scanning devices experience
- Excel experience
- Prior CNC experience
- Blueprint reading prior experience
- Prior manufacturing/construction/laborer experience is preferred
Responsibilities
- Read and understand product requirements to produce quality parts through work orders, work instructions, and blueprints.
- Utilize proper housekeeping procedures; keep the department clean and organized at all times.
- Follow safe work practices (safety glasses, protective shoes, etc.)
- Accurate use of measuring devices
- Communicate improvement ideas and suggestions to team leaders or management regarding process, procedures, materials, environment, etc.
- Follow directions given.
- Properly use materials to maximize production.
- Utilize good communication verbally and in writing to communicate with co-workers and management.
- Utilize and comply with the Quality Management System
- Self-inspect parts to ensure quality requirements and specs are met.
- Ensure quality at the source by noticing and reporting defects in products or documentation, whether done by the operator or someone else
- Follow proper NCR procedure when a non-conforming part is encountered.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
