About The Position

The Shipping/Receiving Clerk is responsible for the documentation, transportation, movement, receipt, and shipment of products, documents, packages, and parts to our warehouses, customers, or internal suppliers. As required, they may provide transportation services to company personnel, including transfers between Eaton operations in Puerto Rico, to the airport, and/or designated locations. The role requires adherence to safety regulations, traffic laws established by the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, and company policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma.
  • Two (2) years in a similar or directly related position.
  • Valid Driver's License, Category 3 or Preferably Category 8.
  • Forklift operation experience - 1 year.
  • Availability for 3rd shift 10:00 pm to 6:30 am Monday to Friday.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferably Category 8 Driver's License.

Responsibilities

  • Collection of cargo to be shipped from the Production/Designated area.
  • Verification that the "Shop Pack" documentation matches the units to be picked up.
  • Performing the corresponding releases, SA, and confirmations for each unit through the AS400/Vista systems.
  • Handling each release according to the corresponding shipping method (Air or Sea).
  • Attaching the Packing Slip to each processed unit.
  • Moving the cargo to be shipped to the respective Carrier containers.
  • Responsibility for storing and managing all shipping-related documentation.
  • Preparing a manifest of merchandise to be shipped by sea when required.
  • Responsibility for generating various reports as needed.
  • Contacting and coordinating shipments with Carriers as necessary.
  • System receipt, collection, and delivery of received merchandise to designated areas.
  • Verification that the "Packing Slip" documentation matches the received package.
  • Maintaining receipt documents properly organized and filed by date and sequence in compliance with document control requirements and document retention policy.
  • Performing the corresponding receipt process for each received unit through the AS400/Vista and PCS (Production Control Systems) systems.
  • Generating Feeder receipts (if applicable) with the PCS process following instructions from the Finance department.
  • Identifying merchandise that requires Inspection or presents problems for system receipt.
  • Moving and storing cargo to designated areas to ensure sufficient storage space for incoming items.
  • Responsibility for storing and managing all receipt-related documentation.
  • Responsibility for generating various reports as needed.
  • Coordinating deliveries with Carriers and internal departments as requested.
  • Following instructions from the Supervisor, Manager, or assigned person. Receiving, collecting, and delivering received merchandise to designated areas.
  • Usual or regular operation of a motor vehicle as part of job duties and/or occasional operation of suspended floor cranes.
  • Maintaining a discrepancy record for POs with issues for receipt.
  • Collecting documents or packages from different departments within the company and delivering them to their final destination.
  • Carrying packages, raw materials, and/or shipments as required.
  • Ensuring that packaging and/or official documentation meets the requirements established by the shipping company.
  • Assisting, as needed, in the packaging of materials and/or documents to be transported.
  • Providing transportation services to company personnel following traffic laws established by the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico.
  • Supporting the manufacturing area with the transport and collection of parts or pieces, as required.
  • Complying with established health, safety, and environmental regulations and procedures.
  • Demonstrating a high degree of confidentiality regarding information related to the business's commercial processes.
  • Any other assigned task.
  • Occasionally operating suspended floor cranes.
  • Usual or regular operation of a motor vehicle as part of job duties.
  • Usual or regular operation of a 20'-24' Truck (License Category 8) as part of job duties.
