About The Position

Dover Food Retail (DFR) is a leading manufacturer of Display Cases, Specialty Products, Refrigeration Systems, Power Systems and Comprehensive Services. DFR is looking for a Shipping & Receiving Clerk to perform manual and clerical work in the Shipping, receiving and storing of materials in a warehouse environment. The Shipping & Receiving Clerk must be an individual who communicates effectively and demonstrates a high degree of concern for the work, the workplace, and fellow employees. The primary responsibility of this position is to coordinate the loading and unloading of finished cases onto trailers for customer delivery or movement between Hillphoenix facilities as needed.

Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED
• 1+ years of relevant work experience.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds plus bending, twisting or lifting from awkward positions or in tight spaces, must be able to push and pull cases in excess of 20lbs to 80lbs repetitiously.
• Proficient in all Microsoft Office Suite programs; MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
• Working knowledge of company ERP systems, such as AS400 or SAP.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates with third party vendors and internal vendors the shipment of finished goods to customer sites.
• Handles all shipping paperwork to ensure all shipments are delivered to their destination within set parameters.
• Enters all shipment/freight information in the computer for tracking purposes.
• Completes required international paperwork for shipment.
• Works with the internal team when customer issues and/or returned product is sent back due to damages, etc.
• Directs loading team to load and unload based on shipping schedule and shipment demands.
• Has working knowledge of inventory to determine where material is and make necessary communication to the appropriate teams.
• Communicates with over the road drivers.
• Receiving, processing and checking of merchandise to verify the correctness of the shipment against all documentation.
• Prepare documentation such as work orders, bills of lading and shipment orders to route materials.
• Verification and data entry of all incoming material shipments.
• Examine contents and compare with records, such as manifest, invoices or orders to verify accuracy of incoming or outgoing shipment.
• Record shipment data such as weight, charges, space availability, damages and discrepancies for reporting, accounting and recordkeeping purposes.
• Contact carrier representative to make arrangements and to issue instructions for shipment and delivery of raw materials.
• Communicate with establishment representatives to rectify problems such as damages, shortages, and non-conformance to specifications and file freight claims.
• Compute amounts, such as space available, storage, shipping and demurrage charges using a calculator or price list.
• Maintain Raw Materials Receiving Calendar.
• Monitor receiving materials and supplies to maintain inventory of stock.
• Deliver or route materials to departments, using work devices, such as hand truck, conveyor, forklift, or sorting bins.
• Willing to help the team in other areas.
