About The Position

The Shipping/Parts Assistant is responsible for overseeing incoming and outgoing shipments for the company, including international shipments. They will also assist the Parts Manager with the inventory, procurement, and sale of components and sub-assemblies. They will assist in administrative tasks as designated by the Parts Manger.

Requirements

  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • 1+ years of experience with shipping and inventory control.
  • 1+ years of experience working with ordering and procurement.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to solve problems with minimal guidance or supervision.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong experience with Microsoft Office products including Outlook, Excel, and Word.
  • Ability to lift/carry up to 25lbs alone and higher weights with assistance occasionally.
  • Pallet jack and forklift operation
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, stooping, reaching, lifting, pulling and pushing.
  • Ability to use fingers for picking, pinching, using tools, and typing.

Nice To Haves

  • Preference given to candidates with aviation experience.

Responsibilities

  • Overseeing incoming and outgoing shipments for the company, including international shipments.
  • Assisting the Parts Manager with the inventory, procurement, and sale of components and sub-assemblies.
  • Assisting in administrative tasks as designated by the Parts Manger.
  • Thorough knowledge of company policies and procedures for the shipment of all outbound and inbound material.
  • Effectively and accurately handle packaging, labeling, and weighing of outbound shipments, including international shipments.
  • Following and staying current in all regulations governing domestic, international, and haz-mat shipping.
  • Ensure incoming packages are signed for and properly dispersed within the company.
  • Maintain and organize the Shipping/Receiving area to ensure an efficient operation, including inventory control, shelf-life monitoring, and periodic testing.
  • Maintain accurate tool check in/out and control.
  • Comply with and maintain tool calibration schedule.
  • Assist with inventory levels, performing cycle counts, investigating discrepancies, as well as assisting with annual physical inventories.
  • Assist with the distribution of components and maintain shop supply inventory levels.
  • Procure and sell parts utilizing multiple platforms and methods of communication.
  • Maintain an orderly and clean department or workspace.
  • Responsible for following and complying with all aviation safety rules and regulations, as well as certification standards and procedures.
  • Must be able to work scheduled hours as assigned by your supervisor.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by your supervisor.
