About The Position

The Shipping & Packaging Clerk is responsible for expediting the movement of outgoing packages and freight. Packaging/crating of items that need to be shipped are some of the key responsibilities. The position reports to the Kitting and Bulk Packaging Supervisor.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Entry level to three years in material handling role.
• Ability to work with hand tools for building and opening crates and packages.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and tasks with a sense of urgency.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
• Well organized with an aptitude for details.
• Ability to stand or walk for the majority of the day and able to lift 50lbs. on a needed basis and up to 125lbs. with assistance

Responsibilities

• Unload and load various shipments via the use of a forklift or overhead crane.
• Package/Crate IPS products per company standards.
• Examines shipment contents and compares with records such as manifests or orders to verify accuracy.
• Directs or participates in cargo loading to ensure completeness of load.
• Must be able to work independently with little supervision.
• Work with all other departments as required.
• Assist in maintaining the highest quality of product provided by IPS.
• Perform other miscellaneous job duties and related functions as directed.
