This position is responsible for building crates/boxes to ship industrial conveyors in our shipping department. Must be comfortable with hand tools (nail guns, staple guns), forklift, and crane operations. Summary: Perform duties required to measure and construct crates, skids and boxes for conveyer equipment and part shipments.

Requirements

  • Must have basic knowledge of shop math and know how to use a tape measure.
  • Requires interpretation to adhere to requirements.
  • Must have good motor skills and be able to decal.
  • 3 to 12 months of previous qualifying experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Work from verbal and written instructions.
  • Measure conveyers and parts to calculate size requirements and construct crates, skids and boxes for shipment of equipment and parts.
  • Move crates, boxes and skids of conveyer products in the shipping and receiving area.
  • Use forklift equipment and floor controlled overhead crane equipment as necessary to move parts and materials; use care to lift and balance loads properly; operate equipment in a safe manner.
  • Exercise proper care in the use of tools, equipment and materials. Nail gun and Staple gun usage.
  • Detect and report faulty equipment, defective material, improper operations and unusual conditions to supervision.
  • Observe all prescribed safety rules and regulations.
  • Maintain work area in a neat and orderly condition.

Benefits

  • Starting at $21.37 per hour.
  • Eligible for a 90-day performance increase.
  • Rate after 90-days: $22.16 per hour.
  • Shift Differential: Additional $1.00/hr.
