About The Position

Starting at $21.37 per hour. This position is eligible for a 90-day performance increase. Rate after 90-days: $22.16 per hour. Shift Differential: Additional $1.00/hr. Shift: 10:00 AM - 6:30 PM. Position is responsible for building crates/boxes to ship industrial conveyors in our shipping department. Must be comfortable with hand tools (nail guns, staple guns), forklift, and crane operations. Summary: Perform duties required to measure and construct crates, skids and boxes for conveyer equipment and part shipments. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING. OTHER DUTIES MAY BE ASSIGNED: Work from verbal and written instructions. Measure conveyers and parts to calculate size requirements and construct crates, skids and boxes for shipment of equipment and parts. Move crates, boxes and skids of conveyer products in the shipping and receiving area. Use forklift equipment and floor controlled overhead crane equipment as necessary to move parts and materials; use care to lift and balance loads properly; operate equipment in a safe manner. Exercise proper care in the use of tools, equipment and materials. Nail gun and Staple gun usage. Detect and report faulty equipment, defective material, improper operations and unusual conditions to supervision. Observe all prescribed safety rules and regulations. Maintain work area in a neat and orderly condition.

Requirements

Must be comfortable with hand tools (nail guns, staple guns), forklift, and crane operations.
Good motor skills.
Must have basic knowledge of shop math and know how to use a tape measure.
Observes safety and security procedures.
Reports potentially unsafe conditions.
Uses equipment and materials properly.
