About The Position

This role is responsible for various shipping and receiving duties in a manufacturing environment. The Material Handler will ensure accurate staging of loads, receiving of raw materials, and organized storage of finished goods. This position requires a strong emphasis on safety, effective communication, and the ability to learn and utilize basic computer systems for inventory control and customer communication. The role also involves maintaining a clean and organized work area, assisting with inventory counts, and handling shipping documentation.

Requirements

Competent reading, writing, math, and problem-solving skills.
Forklift experience in a manufacturing environment putting safety first.
Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers.
High School Diploma/ GED.
Reading and writing skills adequate for following written instructions and completing required documentation.
Ability to problem solve.
Ability to lift and twist for 8-10 hour shifts.
Computer Literate.
Ability to get HILO License.

Nice To Haves

Automotive experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Staging loads for shipment.
Receiving of raw material and returnable containers.
Organized storage of finished goods prior to shipment.
Entry of count point and receiving paperwork for inventory and scheduling control.
Learning basic computer tasks related to shipment of goods and electronic customer communications.
Loading trucks to meet customer requirements.
Performing other duties as assigned.
Maintaining housekeeping/5S and participating in ongoing safety initiatives.
Upholding processes and procedures as defined by supervision.
Organizing empty containers in storage.
Using copier/scanner and barcode scanner.
Taking care of components, cardboard, and fiber, and placing them in the correct location on the plant floor.
Assisting with monthly and yearly inventory.
Hauling empty containers outside of the facility and keeping the area cleaned.
Printing BOLs and sending ASNs for each customer electronically from a computer daily.
