About The Position

S&S Worldwide Inc. in North Logan, UT is hiring a Shipping/Logistics Coordinator to join our team! We are the largest U.S. manufacturer of roller coasters and high-thrill amusement rides. Job Summary The Shipping/Logistics Coordinator is responsible for managing all aspects of the shipping processes, shipping routes, and product delivery, specifically with regard to customer satisfaction. As a shipping/logistic coordinator, customer satisfaction is a priority as this is how S&S Worldwide remains successful. Responding immediately to customer questions and complaints and notifying the customer of any delays in the delivery schedule is essential to this position.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required; some college preferred.
  • Must be able to read, write, and communicate verbally in English.
  • Must be dependable, with a proven history of satisfactory work attendance and punctuality.
  • Ability to work with little supervision and track multiple processes.
  • Knowledge of laws and regulations related to domestic and international shipping requirements.
  • Working knowledge Microsoft Office and (ERP)
  • Outstanding organizational and coordination abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Ship all domestic shipments over 150 lbs.
  • Ship all shipments that utilize UPS/DHL or any other carrier which is not FedEx.
  • Ship all LTL and small parcel international shipments.
  • Provide all customs clearance documents for LTL shipments and keep packages moving internationally.
  • Quote shipments to ensure best price.
  • Coordinate quotes of pickups from international and domestic EX-Works vendors.
  • Ensures EX-Works shipments that have not left the building are still processed throughout system for correct accounting revenue recognition.
  • Coordinate with freight forwarders on all FTL/ containers for jobs.
  • Provide documentation for large trucks.
  • Prepare orders for freight packaging materials and ensure proper inventory (packaging materials) are on hand.
  • Process and code cost all shipping invoices
  • Assess and resolve issues relating to transportation, customer problems, import and export, and logistics issues.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate logistics data for daily, weekly, and monthly reports including usage metrics, customer issues and resolutions, and schedule documentation.
  • Communicate with various other departments as needed to create comprehensive schedules for shipping product to meet customer requirements and delivery times.
  • Provide comprehensive logistical support daily for all outbound shipments.
  • Work to improve the logistics process by negotiating with suppliers and customers, increasing efficiency, reducing unnecessary steps, and creating innovative solutions for logistical issues.
  • Analyze the financial impact of logistical processes and proposed changes to determine maximum efficiency in terms of routing, transportation modes, and resources while continuing to meet customer requirements.
  • Create policies as needed to increase logistical efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
  • Ensure carriers and S&S warehouse employees comply with and meet legal standards and requirements.
  • Train, and oversee training for all shipping/receiving employees.
  • Train Warehouse Supervisor and Warehouse Generalist as a backup for all Shipping/Logistics Coordinator
  • Spend time on the floor each day filling in where needed.
  • Spend time each day learning the other areas of the warehouse
  • Take ownership of the shipping responsibilities of the Warehouse and S&S Inc.
  • Do everything in your power and control to ensure shipping due dates are met.
