About The Position

The Shipping Lead oversees daily shipping operations in a fast-paced aerospace and defense manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for leading the shipping team, coordinating shipment priorities, and ensuring all shipments are processed accurately, on time, and in compliance with customer and regulatory requirements. The Shipping Lead owns department processes, supports continuous improvement efforts, and works closely with Production Control, Quality, Operations, and Procurement to meet customer delivery expectations.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED required.
5+ years of shipping, warehouse, or logistics experience in manufacturing preferred.
Aerospace and defense industry experience strongly preferred.
Prior leadership or team lead experience preferred.
Experience using ERP systems such as Infor CloudSuite Industrial (SyteLine) preferred.
Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Due to ITAR requirements, must be US Citizen or Permanent Resident
All candidates must be able to work 40+ hours per week in a fast paced, high-demand, quality environment.
All candidates must also have sufficient verbal and written communication skills as well as good problem solving skills.

Responsibilities

Lead and support daily activities of Shipping Clerks and shipping personnel.
Coordinate shipment priorities to meet customer delivery requirements and operational needs.
Own and maintain shipping processes and workflow standards to ensure consistency and efficiency.
Train and support team members on shipping procedures, packaging requirements, ERP transactions, and customer expectations.
Hold team accountable for accuracy, organization, and adherence to company procedures.
Ensure domestic and international shipments meet customer, quality, and export compliance requirements.
Review packing slips, certifications, labels, and shipping documentation for accuracy.
Coordinate parcel, freight, LTL, and expedited shipments.
Work closely with Production Control, Quality, and Operations to resolve shipment issues and prioritize critical deliveries.
Support inventory accuracy, cycle counts, and physical inventory activities.
Identify and support process improvements within shipping operations.
Maintain a safe, clean, and organized shipping area.
