About The Position

The Shipping Lead will oversee and execute the daily shipping operations for domestic and international part shipments. This role ensures that all shipments are packed securely, accurately prepared, and shipped in a timely manner while maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality. It is a physically demanding role requiring hands-on involvement in all aspects of the shipping process.

Requirements

  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interact professionally with management, vendors, and customers.
  • Proven experience in coordinating production and aftermarket picking in a fast-paced environment, preferably in manufacturing or parts distribution.
  • Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS), RF scanners, and inventory software.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Must be able to read, write and understand work instructions and assembly drawings.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently without close supervision.
  • Ability to deal effectively with all employees and external business contacts while conveying a positive, service-oriented attitude.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 3+ years of experience in warehouse operations, with at least 1 year in a lead or supervisory role focused on picking and inventory coordination.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or related field preferred.
  • Proven experience in shipping, logistics, or warehouse operations (lead or supervisory experience preferred).
  • Strong working knowledge of shipping software and carrier systems (UPS, FedEx, USPS, etc.).
  • Familiarity with international shipping requirements, including customs documentation, is a plus.
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Basic computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Responsibilities

  • Lead and perform the secure packing of domestic and international shipments, ensuring parts and materials are properly protected to prevent damage during transit to their final destination.
  • Verify shipment accuracy, including correct part numbers, quantities, labeling, and documentation.
  • Process and ship packages using various shipping software systems, including UPS, FedEx, USPS, and other carrier platforms.
  • Ensure all shipments are prepared and dispatched in a timely manner to meet customer and internal deadlines.
  • Maintain accurate shipping records, logs, and required documentation for domestic and international shipments (including customs forms when necessary).
  • Coordinate with internal teams (production, inventory, quality, etc.) to resolve any shipping discrepancies or issues.
  • Monitor inventory of shipping supplies (boxes, packing materials, labels, etc.) and reorder as needed.
  • Oversee and train shipping team members on proper packing techniques, safety protocols, and software usage.
  • Perform daily housekeeping and organization of the shipping area to maintain a clean, safe, and efficient workspace.
  • Conduct regular audits of packed shipments to ensure compliance with company and carrier standards.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
