About The Position

This role is responsible for all material handling needs, primarily picking warehoused parts and delivering them to assembly areas to ensure efficient production. The Shipping Lead will work closely with production lines to ensure full utilization of people, materials, and equipment to meet customer demand. The position requires achieving company standards for safety, quality, and productivity.

2 years of material handling/forklift operation experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment and forklift certified.
High School Diploma or equivalent

Responsibilities

Operate a forklift or other equipment to transport materials within the facility.
Perform forklift daily inspections.
Practice safe working habits, following safety guidelines to operation and support of company initiatives.
Know the basic functions of the ERP system.
May assist in training of new employees or employees learning new work areas to work instructions/standard work.
Actively understands and participates with the Drive to Zero program.
Use judgment in resolving issues or recommending solutions.
May participate in project teams or lead portions of projects.
Provides resolutions from basic to moderately complex problems. Exercises judgment within procedures and practices in selecting methods and techniques for arriving at solutions.
Contributes to improving processes, lead times, through-put, and cost.
Ability to cross-train in different areas of need.
Flex across different products and areas to support business needs.
Provide training to new employees or employees learning new work areas to work instructions/standard work.
Proficiently access information and perform transactions as needed within ERP system.
Uses initiative and judgment to lead problem solving and implementing appropriate countermeasures.
Suggest and implement improvements to existing equipment and/or designs to improve safety, quality, delivery, and productivity.
