About The Position

The Shipping Forklift Operator is responsible for various duties related to the loading and movement of products within the shipping department. This includes completing checklists, scanning units, loading trailers, and maintaining a clean work area. The role requires adherence to safety procedures, including personal protective equipment usage and lock-out/tag-out protocols. The operator must be able to safely lift and move up to 75lbs and follow instructions from their supervisor and coordinator.

Requirements

Ability to read, write, and speak English.
Ability to read a measuring tape and ruler.
Ability to count and stack finished product.
Reading Orders.
Warehouse and/or manufacturing experience.
Forklift experience.
Stable and verifiable work history.

Responsibilities

Complete the forklift checklist and communicate with maintenance on any issues.
Obtain tallies from Coordinator to be loaded.
Check trailer appearance for cleanliness, damage, and safety.
Check unit appearance – proper dunnage, bands, load tags, special instructions.
Scan unit from discharge line.
Locate and scan to proper area – trailer or location.
Load trailer – scan unit, scan door.
Check computer for last unit.
Communicate shortage, overrun partials, damage to Coordinator.
Completion of trailer – Check cube, put on load bar, notify Coordinator.
Wear all required personal protective equipment.
Keep work areas clean and free of debris, including keeping floor clean of sheets.
Safely lift/move up to 75lbs during regular work shift.
Follow lock-out / tag-out procedures.
