About The Position

The Forklift Driver will load, store, transport, and/or deliver units of sheets, in-process materials, finished boxes, and miscellaneous items. This role involves generating and maintaining accurate records, and ensuring clean and orderly storage areas and aisles. The Forklift Driver will report to the shipping supervisor.

Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Following all safety rules and practices; report any unsafe issues to Supervisor immediately.
  • Reading factory work orders and various shipping and/or receiving papers to learn customer requirements and processing information.
  • Monitoring conveyor take off lines, removing units from the lines, and loading units into trailers and/or placing units in storage trailers or location.
  • Checking load tags and unit counts to verify that they are correct and make sure all loads tags are scanned into proper location or trailer.
  • Shipping all orders complete on same trailer.
  • Reading all instructions and following all special orders in Witron System.
  • Inspecting finished units during the loading process to ensure that they are free from handling damage, dunnage placed properly on top and bottom of material, and straps are intact.
  • Accurately completing loading and composition reports to verify what is loaded on trailer.
  • Running IPOINT report at least 3 times per shift and signing off when printed. No loads should be over 30 minutes on report.
  • Maintaining well-organized paperwork and placing it on Dispatch desk neatly.
  • Generating accurate bills of lading and making sure the actual trailer number matches the trailer on BOL.
  • Delivering sheet and/or in-process units to production areas as required.
  • Maintaining clean and organized work areas, storage areas, aisles and PITs - signing off on log daily.
  • Sweeping and cleaning trailers such that only clean trailers are used for our products.
  • Taking and maintaining accurate inventories, which will include stock takes on a bi-weekly basis.
  • Stretch wrapping specified units.
  • Performing receiving duties and putting away all material received.
  • Performing other duties as assigned by supervision.
  • Understanding the importance of producing food-safe packaging products and committing to contributing and maintaining this facility as a food-safe processing environment. This commitment includes operational methods and personnel practices, maintenance practices, and cleaning practices involved in the everyday production of food contact products.
