About The Position

This position is responsible for safely operating various equipment to move trailers, manage warehouse inventory, and ensure efficient loading and unloading of trailers. The role involves working in extreme temperatures, including sub-zero conditions, and requires adherence to safety protocols and USDA inspection requirements for export orders. The Shipping Floater will also be responsible for maintaining cleanliness in work areas and performing other assigned duties.

Requirements

  • Must demonstrate good communication skills.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, bend, lift, and twist up to 8 hours per day.
  • Must be able to work with limited supervision.
  • Must have basic computer literacy.
  • Must meet the physical abilities evaluation requirements for this position.
  • Must successfully complete all required training including Yard Dog, Genie scissor lift, Power Jack/Forklift, and Hazard communication training courses.
  • Able to work overtime as needed.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test and background check are required.
  • Must have the legal authorization to work for any employer in the United States.
  • Exposure to varying temperatures, from warm to extremely cold.
  • Exposure to moving equipment, slippery floors, heavy and repeated lifting.
  • Working at heights greater than 30ft daily.
  • Operating the yard dog in inclement weather, rain, and snow.
  • Wear appropriate PPE and other equipment as necessary or required.

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate the Yard Dog to hook, move, and back trailers into docks and confined areas.
  • Safely operate the Genie scissor lift to clear obstructed lanes and remove frost build-up in the warehouse.
  • Accurately pick, stage, and load orders using SAP.
  • Transfer product to and from storage.
  • Learn all freezer layouts and maintain lanes in storage freezers for maximum capacity and efficiency.
  • Communicate with Production, R&D, Q.A, and Transportation departments.
  • Maintain clean docks, freezers, office, and storage areas.
  • Work with the onsite USDA inspector to get all export orders stamped and inspected in a timely manner.
  • Accurately record department inspections/maintenance.
  • Load outbound and unload inbound trailers.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
