About The Position

The Shipping Floater is responsible for a variety of tasks within the shipping department, including operating specialized equipment, managing inventory, and ensuring efficient operations. This role requires adaptability to work in varying temperatures, including extremely cold environments, and involves physical demands such as lifting and working at heights. The position also requires effective communication with various departments and adherence to safety protocols.

Requirements

Good communication skills.
Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and twist up to 8 hours per day.
Ability to work with limited supervision.
Basic computer literacy.
Meet the physical abilities evaluation requirements.
Successfully complete all required training including Yard Dog, Genie scissor lift, Power Jack/Forklift, and Hazard communication training courses.
Able to work overtime as needed.
Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test and background check.
Legal authorization to work for any employer in the United States.

Nice To Haves

Experience operating a Yard Dog.
Experience operating a Genie scissor lift.
Experience with SAP.
Experience working in freezer environments (-0 temperatures).

Responsibilities

Safely operate the Yard Dog to hook, move, and back trailers into docks and confined areas.
Safely operate the Genie scissor lift to clear obstructed lanes and remove frost build-up.
Accurately pick, stage, and load orders in SAP.
Transfer product to and from storage.
Learn all freezer layouts and maintain lanes for maximum capacity and efficiency.
Communicate with Production, R&D, Q.A, and Transportation.
Maintain clean docks, freezers, office, and storage areas.
Work with the onsite USDA inspector to get all export orders stamped and inspected.
Accurately record department inspections/maintenance.
Work well within the team.
Load outbound and unload inbound trailers.
Perform any other duties as assigned.
