About The Position

As a Shipping Driver, you will be responsible for ensuring timely and secure delivery of aircraft parts, as well as supporting our Shipping/Receiving Department when needed. You will be working closely with our logistics team to meet accurate delivery schedules. Who is FMI? Requirements

  • Valid Class A driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3 years of professional driving experience.
  • Familiarity with local and regional routes.
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy parts, exceeding 50 lbs.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Basic knowledge of aerospace parts.
  • Strong communication skills for interaction with team members and vendors.
  • Ability to operate GPS and navigation systems.
  • Flexibility to work varied hours and on short notice.
  • Commitment to safety and compliance with all transportation regulations.
  • Ability to pass background checks and drug testing.
  • This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.

Responsibilities

  • Safely and efficiently transport aerospace parts between company location and external vendors.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure roadworthiness and safety compliance.
  • Pack, Load, and unload aerospace components, ensuring proper handling to prevent damage.
  • Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including delivery receipts and inventory logs.
  • Coordinate with logistics and warehouse teams to ensure timely and accurate delivery schedules.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatchers and other team members to provide delivery status updates.
  • Follow all relevant transportation regulations and company policies.
  • Ensure the cleanliness and routine maintenance of the delivery vehicle.
  • Assist with inventory management tasks when not on delivery duty.
  • Report any delivery issues or discrepancies to management promptly.
  • Provide excellent customer service during interactions with clients and vendors.
  • Other duties as assigned
