About The Position
The Shipping Dock Worker will be responsible for sorting, labeling, and building pallets according to orders and client specifications. This role requires operating forklift equipment, maintaining accuracy in verifying book titles, quantities, and item conditions, and handling exceptions such as damaged, missing, or oversized items according to quality control procedures. The position also involves adhering to all safety guidelines, including safe lifting and handling procedures.
Requirements
- Previous warehouse, distribution, or logistics experience
- Ability to walk, stand, bend, stoop, and lift up to 50lbs continuously throughout shift
- Ability to follow all safety guidelines
- Steel toe shoes/boots, required
Responsibilities
- Sort, label, and build pallets per order and/or client
- Operator forklift equipment as required
- Maintain accuracy by verifying book titles, quantities, and item conditions
- Handle exceptions such as damaged, missing, or oversized items by adhering to Lakeside Book Company’s quality control procedures
- Follow all safety guidelines, including safe lifting and handling procedure
