About The Position

The Shipping Associate is responsible for the preparation, inspection, and movement of finished custom cabinetry, millwork, and solid surface products. This includes loading and unloading delivery trucks, wrapping and staging products, and performing quality checks prior to shipment. The associate works closely with the logistics and installation teams to ensure products are shipped safely, accurately, and on time. Occasional field support for installation may be required.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in shipping, warehouse, or logistics operations, preferably in a manufacturing or construction setting.
  • Experience in a woodshop, cabinet shop, or construction material handling role.
  • Basic installation experience with cabinetry or millwork.
  • Basic knowledge of cabinetry, millwork, or solid surface materials preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail when inspecting products for quality assurance.
  • Ability to lift 75 lbs. and perform repetitive physical tasks.
  • Comfortable working in a warehouse and outdoor environment.
  • Forklift certification or willingness to obtain certification required.
  • Valid driver’s license preferred.
  • Team player with strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to sit for long periods of time.
  • Stand, walk, use hands and fingers to handle, grasp, or feel objects or controls, talk and hear, reach, bend, and stoop.
  • Ability to lift over 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and employees.
  • Ability to work under stress, with interruptions and deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Safely load and unload trucks with finished cabinetry, millwork, and solid surface products.
  • Inspect finished products for damage or defects before wrapping and preparing for delivery.
  • Wrap, label, and stage materials in preparation for shipment according to delivery schedules.
  • Assist in maintaining an organized and clean shipping and receiving area.
  • Document and report any discrepancies or damages in product condition prior to shipment.
  • Collaborate with the logistics team to prioritize outgoing shipments and meet delivery timelines.
  • Follow proper handling procedures to avoid damage during loading or unloading.
  • Use forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and effectively.
  • Provide field support on installation sites as needed, including basic installation of custom millwork or solid surface components.
  • Comply with all safety standards, policies, and federal/state regulations including OSHA requirements.
  • Self-motivated to insure all work is completed quickly and timely.
  • Identify and use basic hand tools.
  • Read a tape measure.
  • Perform math skills such as adding and subtracting.
  • Pack finished products in a safe, efficient manner, minimizing potential damage to the products.
  • Read and utilize checklists.
  • Read and understand blueprints, floor plans, and shop drawings.
  • Demonstrate respect for fellow team members and customers.
  • Take responsibility for getting the work done.
