What Shipping Coordinators Do Essential Responsibilities Collect and compile customer orders for shipment Oversee packaging and crating methods and determine appropriate shipping supplies Package products and fabricate crates as needed Enter shipping information, bills of lading, and shipment details into computer systems Operate a forklift to load and unload trucks Quote shipping charges Stock incoming packing materials Organize outbound shipments and coordinate with internal verifiers Contact consignees to arrange delivery details Coordinate contracted shipments with consignees and carriers Arrange, review, and approve non-domestic outbound shipments Assist with maintaining policies and procedures for domestic and overseas shipping Coordinate dock space and equipment needs with the dock team Maintain inventory of shipping supplies Organize and maintain the shipping area, tools, cartons, packing materials, and other supplies Update shipping guidelines, procedures, weights, and measures documentation as needed An individual in this position must be able to successfully perform the essential duties and responsibilities listed above. Requirements

  • Domestic and international shipping experience strongly preferred
  • Forklift operation skills required
  • Manufacturing experience preferred
  • Fundamental computer skills, including Word, Excel, shipping software, and other Microsoft applications
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Good verbal, listening, and written communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making ability
  • Ability to work independently and think critically
  • Good analytical skills
  • Strong attention to detail and follow-through
  • Ability to pass a drug screen and background check

Responsibilities
