About The Position

The Shipping Coordinator position ensures safe, timely and accurate completion of shipments to internal and external customers in accordance with Pregis best practices. Additionally, this role is responsible for safety first approach and leads team to continually improve.

Requirements

• High school diploma required. College / Trade education preferred or equivalent industrial experience.
• High level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook applications.
• Minimum 2 years of shipping related experience in a complex manufacturing environment.
• Experience supervising with a focus on continuous improvement and a strong emphasis on safety.
• ERP knowledge. SAP experience a plus.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills required.
• Strong work ethic, positive attitude with ability to adapt to change.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs.

Nice To Haves

• Previous manufacturing experience a plus.
• SAP experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Set the tone for team with emphasis on Safety, Quality, Profitability and people development. Model the right behavior through actions.
• Leads and manages Shipment Planner(s), Driver(s), and Loader(s)
• Ensures proper personnel are in place for the specific duties.
• Trains personnel to perform tasks in accordance with Pregis policy and Best Practices
• Keeps Safety in the forefront of the team’s thinking and approach to work.
• Adheres to all Pregis Safety rules and ensures that Shipping department adheres to all safe shipping policies and procedures.
• Ensures all Shipping / Loading tasks are completed in timely and safe manner using Pregis Best Practices
• Ensures shipments are planned, loaded, and shipped, accurately and safely per Pregis Best Practices.
• Maintains positive carrier relationships.
• Identifies active carriers in area as potential carriers for Pregis.
