About The Position

Reily Foods Company has a passion for flavor and has been providing iconic foods and beverages that create meals and memories for over 120 years! Our products consist of New England Coffee, French Market Coffee, Luzianne Iced Tea, Blue Plate Mayonnaise, Swans Down Cake Flour, Tiger Sauce, and Carroll Shelby Chili (to name a few) and can be found in foodservice and retail locations around the country. The Shipping Coordinator is responsible for ensuring that all carrier appointments are scheduled, customer orders are communicated with the distribution team to confirm items are staged and ready, paperwork associated with shipping, receiving and returns are completed and accurate and the shipping office is professional, organized and clean.

Requirements

  • Intermediate computer skills with the ability to learn new software quickly
  • Proficient with Microsoft programs, especially Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Good attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines
  • Basic math skills
  • Good communication, both written and verbal
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Positive attitude and team player

Responsibilities

  • Schedules all pick-up and delivery appointments with carriers with reasonable time frames to complete
  • Checks in drivers and enters all required documentation
  • Maintains files and scanning of all required documentation
  • Accurately enters all pickup and delivery information on the loading or unloading forms
  • Assigns drivers to dock doors and ensures freight is marked appropriately on dock for correct floor to door loading
  • Ensures work is sent to the floor for picking within a reasonable time frame to accomplish
  • Monitors potential shortages and checks all open released orders to avoid potential cuts
  • Marks all pick-ups that are late with a reason code
  • Ensures proper items are filled in on the Bill of Ladings, seal, trailer number, pick up numbers, and Pro numbers
  • Handles all UPS and FedEx shipping
  • Completes a safety inspection of all fire extinguishers and fire hoses monthly
  • Assists with loading as needed
  • Seeks additional tasks when assigned work is completed
  • Participates in annual and other periodic physical inventory cycle counts
  • Follows all safety procedures and actively participates in safety training and safety system ownership initiatives
  • Maintains safe and efficient use of equipment, tools, and person; reports any injury, accident, or unsafe condition to supervisor immediately
  • Supports and complies with GMP’s; understands and follows emergency action plan
  • Supports food safety, quality, and legality
  • Ensures the operation is providing food-safe, quality products which meet or exceed all product specifications and regulatory requirements
  • Other duties as assigned
