About The Position

This role involves coordinating the shipping and receiving of goods, ensuring accuracy and adherence to procedures. The Shipping Coordinator will collaborate with internal departments and external service providers, inspect incoming and outgoing shipments for accuracy and damage, and prepare necessary documentation. The position requires knowledge of shipping software and carriers, maintenance of shipping supplies, and transportation of parts. Adherence to AS9100/ISO policies and procedures is essential, along with participation in continuous improvement activities.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED); or minimum one (1) year of experience or combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret written instruction.
  • Ability to present information and respond to questions from management.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Must be able to become certified and maintain certification through an OSHA approved forklift operation.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborates and communicates with internal departments, Program Managers, service providers, and others involved in the shipment and receipt of products.
  • Unpacks delivered shipments and compares packing lists to purchase orders, ensuring accurate deliveries.
  • Inspects the quantities of goods delivered and determines whether parts or packaging is damaged.
  • Coordinates activities for US Shipments.
  • Assists with activities for international shipments.
  • Assists in determinations on method and mode of shipment to customer requirements.
  • Examines shipping instructions for exactness and conformance to policies and procedures.
  • Monitors packing productivity.
  • Verifies and keeps records on outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment by performing the duties to quality and productivity standards.
  • Contributes to preparation and expediting shipments.
  • Determines labeling requirements.
  • Assembles and packs product per contract requirements.
  • Prepares and affixes shipping labels on packed cartons or stencils identifying shipping information for cartons, skids or other storage devices in an accurate manner including any special labels that are customer required.
  • Prepares all shipping documents in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Coordinates with UPS/FedEx or other transportation companies to pick up required shipments.
  • Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
  • Transports parts to and from outside service vendors, other site locations, and carrier drop-offs.
  • Performs other related duties, as assigned, for the purpose of ensuring an efficient and effective work environment.
  • Ensures activities are conducted in accordance with Atec International Standards Organization (AS9100/ISO) policies and correct and report any deviations to appropriate area manager/supervisor.
  • Be familiar with and understand Atec Quality Policy and company objectives.
  • Understand required AS9100/ISO specific Procedures and Work Instructions.
  • Complete all records required by Procedures and Work Instructions.
  • Participate in Atec Continuous Improvement activities as appropriate.
  • Participate in AS9100/ISO training as required.
  • Cooperate with Auditors.
  • Report any deviations to appropriate area manager/supervisor.
