About The Position

Responsible for receiving, storing, moving, and preparing materials and products for production and delivery. Ensures accurate handling of incoming and outgoing shipments, safely operates material handling equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks, and maintains efficient material flow throughout the facility.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Basic critical thinking skills and strong attention to detail.
• Ability to operate forklifts, and material handling equipment safely.
• Must be able to operate overhead cranes utilizing pendant radio controls.
• Must maintain certifications for required equipment.
• Proficiency in using a variety of hand tools.
• Ability to use measuring tools such as tape measure.
• Knowledge of safe and best practices for loading and unloading materials from trailers or trucks.
• Ability to follow instructions and pre-established guidelines.
• Ability to use measuring tools such as box calipers, slide dial calipers, and micrometers.
• Ability to read and interpret simple blueprints.
• Ability to speak, write, and comprehend conversational English.
• Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods, including walking 2-5 miles per shift.
• Ability to bend, sit, stand, twist, and stoop repeatedly for extended periods.
• Ability to lift and carry items weighing 25lbs – 50lbs from floor to waist and front carry up to 25lbs – 50lbs, repeatedly per shift.
• Ability to reach overhead, squat, kneel, and climb short ladders or steps.
• Ability to maintain coordination of hand and finger movements to grasp and manipulate objects with precision.
• Ability to operate forklifts, pallet jacks, cranes, and other material handling equipment safely.
• Ability to read labels, follow safety and standard operating procedures, and communicate effectively in an industrial environment.
• 20/30 vision with the use of corrective lenses.

Responsibilities

• Follow all safety policies, procedures, and guidelines to maintain a safe work environment.
• Prepare records of orders shipped (make up bills of lading, post weight and shipping charges, keep files of shipping records).
• Receive incoming shipments of materials or orders to the company (verify correctness of shipments against bills of lading, report damaged goods and shortages, routes good to the proper departments).
• Operate forklifts, hand trucks, cranes, and other material handling equipment to move materials within the facility.
