About The Position

Ascentek provides an environment where you can love what you do and be your best every day. The Shipping Clerk will maintain data within a Warehouse Management System including inventory, fulfillment, transportation, and order management. The Shipping Clerk will be responsible for planning orders, arranging transportation, maintaining transportation contacts, and work instructions for customer-routed freight.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum of 2 years shipping experience
  • Experience using a computerized Warehouse Management System
  • Experience with scanned pick and shipment preparation
  • Knowledge of LTL shipment routing and classification of freight
  • Must have good command of the English language and the ability to read and understand written instructions
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations in order to accurately complete job tasks
  • Ability to effectively communicate with co-workers to aid in satisfying customer requirements
  • Ability to organize and prioritize job tasks and requirements
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished written or orally in English
  • Strong sense of urgency and attention to detail
  • Ability to communicate effectively via phone or email
  • Computer proficiency utilizing ERP systems and software including Microsoft Outlook and Excel
  • Steel-toed shoes are required for interaction in the warehouse.

Responsibilities

  • Prioritize and communicate intercompany transfer needs
  • Identify and communicate customer order shortages
  • Sales order fulfillment
  • Use of transportation module to plan orders
  • Print sales order pick lists
  • Schedule and confirm transportation arrangements
  • Communicate with carriers such as road, rail, air, and sea companies
  • Ensure customer ASN’s are performed
  • Adhere to the company’s safety standards
  • Responsible for adhering to and maintaining the company’s ISO standards
