About The Position

The Shipping/Receiving Logistics Team is responsible for coordinating the movement of materials and finished aerospace components throughout the supply chain in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role ensures the accurate receipt, storage, packaging, documentation, and shipment of products supporting commercial aerospace, military, and government customers. The successful candidate will maintain strict compliance with aerospace quality standards, traceability requirements, customer specifications, and delivery schedules while serving as a key liaison between production, planning, quality, purchasing, and transportation providers.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2 years of shipping, receiving, warehouse, or logistics experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems and inventory transactions.
  • Ability to read work orders, engineering documentation, packing instructions, and shipping documents.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a high-volume environment.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in aerospace, aviation, defense, or other highly regulated manufacturing industries.
  • Working knowledge of AS9100 quality systems.
  • Experience with ITAR, EAR, and export documentation.
  • Familiarity with commercial carriers, freight logistics, and transportation scheduling.

Responsibilities

  • Receive incoming raw materials, components, tooling, and customer-owned property while verifying quantities, part numbers, certifications, and purchase orders.
  • Inspect incoming shipments for damage or discrepancies.
  • Coordinate daily outbound shipments to meet customer delivery schedules and production priorities.
  • Pick, package, label, and prepare finished aerospace products for domestic and international shipment.
  • Generate shipping documentation including packing lists, bills of lading, commercial invoices, export paperwork, and carrier documentation.
  • Maintain accurate inventory transactions within the ERP/MRP system.
  • Verify customer-specific packaging, labeling, and documentation requirements before shipment.
  • Support production by ensuring timely movement of materials between receiving stockroom, manufacturing, and shipping areas.
  • Monitor shipment status and proactively communicate delays or transportation issues to internal stakeholders.
  • Maintain organized inventory locations and shipping areas utilizing Lean Manufacturing and 5S principles.
  • Safely operate pallet jacks, hand trucks, and other material handling equipment, as certified.
  • Maintain complete lot, batch, and serial number traceability for all aerospace materials and finished products.
  • Ensure all required certifications, inspection reports, Certificates of Conformance (CoCs), and customer documentation accompany each shipment.
  • Follow Foreign Object Debris (FOD) prevention procedures by maintaining clean work areas and preventing contamination of aerospace components.
  • Adhere to Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) handling requirements when receiving, storing, packaging, or shipping ESD-sensitive products.
  • Ensure compliance with AS9100 quality management system requirements and internal procedures.
  • Support compliance with FAA, customer, and government contract requirements.
  • Follow applicable export control regulations, including ITAR and EAR, when processing international shipments.
  • Participate in internal audits, inventory audits, and continuous improvement initiatives.
