About The Position

Quanex is looking for a Day Shift Shipping Clerk to join our team located in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. This role is responsible for coordinating shipping and warehouse activities for the day-to-day operations necessary to ensure on-time delivery objectives are met. Typical Schedule: Monday - Friday, 6:00 am-2:30 pm.

Requirements

Be capable of obtaining a forklift certification
Accuracy of information and ability to follow a process through to completion
Ability to learn necessary computer systems
Able to move pallets, load trucks, and move other items safely throughout the plant as necessary
Able to lift 35 lbs consistently
Addition, subtraction, and multiplication of basic numbers
Basic computer skills
Ability to read work instructions, carton labels, etc., necessary for day-to-day operations

Responsibilities

Accountable for scanning documents from received shipments, stocking, and handling of raw materials, components, and finished goods into the warehouse
Print daily pick tickets as necessary
Accountable for picking, shipping, service, quality documents
Produce copies of paperwork when necessary
Gather, review, and sort daily orders by ship date
Prioritize duties with help from the Shipping Supervisor
Monitor and print expedite tickets throughout the day
Pulling, dispersing, and receiving of components to and from assemblers to produce finished product necessary to fill customer orders
Pulling of finished goods inventory to fill customer orders
Coordinate with all departments to ensure customer orders are shipped in a timely manner.
Match product and customer orders to ensure proper quantities and labeling
Prepare UPS/FedEx shipments according to customer requirements
Assist with inventory activities including cycle counting process
Coordinate and help with routine and exception cycle counting
