About The Position

The Shipping Clerk is responsible for processing customer orders, preparing shipment documentation, receiving incoming materials, scheduling carriers, and coordinating transportation. This role also involves working with warehouse and production personnel to ensure timely order fulfillment, maintaining accurate shipping and receiving records, and investigating/resolving shipping discrepancies. Additionally, the Shipping Clerk will support inventory control, cycle counts, process improvement initiatives, and perform other assigned duties. Safety is a critical aspect of this role, requiring adherence to all company safety policies, OSHA requirements, and PPE standards, as well as completing required safety training and reporting any hazards or incidents immediately. The position requires the ability to work safely in a manufacturing and warehouse environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Shipping, warehouse, logistics, or manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems, Microsoft Office, and shipping software.
  • Ability to accurately read a tape measure.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work safely in a manufacturing and warehouse environment around moving equipment and material handling vehicles.

Responsibilities

  • Process customer orders and prepare packing slips, bills of lading, and shipment documentation.
  • Receive incoming materials and verify quantities and documentation accuracy.
  • Schedule carriers and coordinate transportation requirements.
  • Work with warehouse and production personnel to ensure timely order fulfillment.
  • Maintain accurate shipping and receiving records.
  • Investigate and resolve shipping discrepancies and customer concerns.
  • Support inventory control, cycle counts, and process improvement initiatives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Follow all company safety policies, OSHA requirements, and PPE standards.
  • Complete required safety training and certifications, including forklift certification when required.
  • Report hazards, incidents, injuries, and near misses immediately.
  • Conduct required equipment inspections and follow safe operating procedures.
  • Participate in safety meetings, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
