About The Position

This role is responsible for fulfilling the requirements of the company's shipping department. The position requires maintaining a clean, safe, and organized working environment, and adhering to company policies, regulations, and operating procedures.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or 1 year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.
  • Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) operator training certificate to operate forklift.

Responsibilities

  • Pick, check, pack and ship orders as per QSI procedures QSI-15-02.
  • Prepare Bill of Lading (BOL) and packing slips for shipments.
  • Put away released finished good products; transfers from other warehouse locations as necessary.
  • Determine method of shipment, utilizing knowledge of shipping procedures.
  • Insert items into cartons using spacers, fillers, and protective padding.
  • Affix shipping labels on packed cartons.
  • Consolidate shipping orders as necessary.
  • Label identifying information and shipping instructions on products.
  • Examine outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications.
  • Utilize ERP (QAD-MFG PRO) to make inventory transactions.
  • Assist in cycle counting finished good products.
  • Operate Forklift in a safe and secure manner; transport items between warehouses using forklift and/or company vehicles.
  • Knowledge of UPS, FedEx, and USPS shipping systems.
  • Adhere to OSHA and DOT regulations.
  • Run end of day reports to ensure all sales orders are shipped correctly.
  • All other duties as assigned (including but not limited to working in other departments, assignments, etc.).
