About The Position
The Shipping and Receiving Specialist supports warehouse and shipping/receiving operations while serving as the primary point of contact at the Will Call desk for face-to-face customer service. This role works cross-functionally with all departments to ensure accurate inventory management, timely shipment scheduling, and a clean, safe, and efficient warehouse environment.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum 2 years of inventory control, shipping/receiving, or warehouse experience required
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Ability to operate inventory and ERP systems
- Strong attention to detail for order accuracy
- Effective verbal and written communication
- Valid driver's license required
Nice To Haves
- Forklift and chainsaw operation preferred
- Knowledge of oil & gas or HDPE pipe products a plus
- TWIC card and OSHA certification preferred
Responsibilities
- Inspect all incoming shipments against bills of lading and packing slips to verify accuracy
- Unload pipe deliveries using a forklift; organize pipe in the yard by size and wall thickness
- Load trucks with pipes, machines, and fittings in accordance with purchase orders
- Schedule outbound shipments via UPS, LTL, and hot shot carriers
- Maintain and order propane for forklift operations
- Greet and assist customers at the Will Call desk with order fulfillment and product inquiries
- Fabricate pipe as needed to fulfill specific customer requests
- Cut pipe using a chainsaw in compliance with all safety procedures; bundle for shipment
- Package parts and fittings accurately for outbound orders
- Maintain up-to-date inventory records in the company's systems
- Conduct daily maintenance of the pipe yard to ensure cleanliness and organization
- Perform general warehouse maintenance, including trash removal and facility upkeep
- Answer phones, respond to emails, and perform data entry into ERP and other systems
- Maintain accurate expense documentation
- Assist with billing and invoice creation as needed
- Perform routine vehicle maintenance and ensure readiness for site visits
- Maintain current TWIC, FRC, and any other required site-access credentials
