About The Position
Direct Startnseeks a detail-oriented Shipping and Receiving Specialist to manage our clients incoming and outgoing materials while ensuring compliance with our Quality Management System. You'll work directly with the Quality Manager, cross-functional teams, and suppliers to maintain accurate inventory, verify part quality, and support timely shipments.
Requirements
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency with MS Office applications (Word, Excel)
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Flexibility to work overtime as needed
Nice To Haves
- Visual weld inspection knowledge is a plus
Responsibilities
- Set up and maintain incoming material files and documentation
- Unload and inspect materials from trucks for damage
- Verify parts against purchase orders, prints, and supplier documentation
- Tag materials per QMS procedures and store in designated locations
- Log receipt times and storage locations in the computer system
- Coordinate with QA, Engineering, or Purchasing when documentation is incomplete or delayed
- Coordinate with manufacturing to pull, package, and prepare orders for shipment
- Arrange freight and manage custom packaging requests
- Verify shipping paperwork accuracy and completeness
- Photograph and file outgoing loads for record-keeping
- Maintain inventory of packing supplies
- Perform and document quality checks as directed by QMS procedures
- Inspect for shipping damage and verify part condition against drawings and POs
- Accept or reject parts based on inspection results
- Record findings on Bills of Lading and shipping documentation
