Shipping and Receiving Clerk
About The Position
Boyd Gaming Corporation is a premier casino entertainment company in the United States. This role involves managing the receiving and distribution of goods within the warehouse. The position requires attention to detail in checking deliveries, maintaining inventory, and ensuring proper storage and rotation of items. The clerk will also be responsible for preparing and delivering requisitions to various outlets and maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the warehouse. Key responsibilities include verifying the accuracy of incoming shipments against purchase orders, logging deliveries, storing goods appropriately, and adhering to the FIFO (First-In, First-Out) method for food and beverage items. The role also involves loading, wrapping, and delivering requisitioned items, managing outgoing paperwork, and ensuring all deliveries are signed for and discrepancies are handled. Maintaining a clean and organized work environment, including coolers and freezers, is also a crucial part of the job. The clerk will report to the supervisor and Supply Chain Manager and must be knowledgeable in receiving and storing procedures, including monitoring temperatures.
Requirements
- Knowledgeable and qualified in all facets of receiving and proper storing procedures.
- Ability to monitor proper temperatures of coolers and freezers.
- Lifting required up to 100 pounds.
- Demonstrate ability to operate pallet jack and fork lift.
- Must be able to move and restrain loads up to 1000 pounds.
- Must be able to read and write English fluently.
- Must possess good math skills.
- Must be able to stand on your feet for a long period of time.
- Must be able to handle extreme temperature changes.
- High School Diploma or GED
- Possession of, and ability to obtain and maintain a valid driver's and gaming license within assigned state of employment and other jurisdictions
- Must successfully pass background check
- Must successfully pass an alcohol and drug screening
- Must be 21 years of age
Nice To Haves
- Computer knowledge or experience preferred.
- Familiarities with MMS, Outlook, Excel, and Word.
Responsibilities
- Check all goods presented for delivery at the warehouse against purchase order or delivery worksheet for accuracy of quality, quantity, pack and price (if applicable) as well as quality and freshness of perishable products.
- Make any adjustments or corrections before the delivery receipt is signed.
- Log purchase orders and/or delivery worksheets, complete paperwork, and file for processing.
- Store goods in the appropriate area, using delivery and date labels when applicable.
- Maintain rotation of food and beverage items using the FIFO method.
- Load items that have been requisitioned onto carts or pallets, wrap the items, and deliver them to outlets with appropriate paperwork.
- Note received deliveries in a log, sort them (considering next day, second day, and air packages), and deliver them as quickly as possible.
- Ensure deliveries are signed for by the department receiving the order, and file the signed copy in that department’s appropriate file.
- Clean and maintain warehouse and work areas, including collecting empty pallets, emptying trash, sweeping or buffing floors, and cleaning coolers and freezers.
- Complete directives as assigned by the supervisor and Supply Chain Manager.
- Monitor proper temperatures of coolers and freezers.
