About The Position

Based in Vernon, California the Shipping and Receiving Clerk will perform essential job functions associated with heat treatment under the direction of the Supervisor to meet customer specifications including assisting other employees as needed. This position is responsible for the care and treatment of our customer’s inventory and as such will perform duties in a safe and responsible manner to prevent customer loss or damage. Must have the ability to report for work on time, follow directions, interact effectively with co-workers, understand and follow rules and procedures and accept constructive criticism.

Requirements

Must satisfy ITAR compliance requirements, therefore candidates must be U.S. Citizens or Permanent Resident Card Holder.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum one year experience in computer applications including Microsoft Office applications and the ability to learn new software programs related to function.
Must be able to obtain and maintain forklift certification.
Must demonstrate the ability to read, write and communicate the English language.
Ability to work full-time, 40+ hours per week.
Candidates must pass a pre-employment drug screen and basic physical.

Some shipping experience desired.

Responsibilities

Maintains shipping and receiving area as needed.
Assists with loading and unloading trucks.
Schedules truck shipments, UPS, and FedEx as needed.
Interacts with customers as needed to clarify or communicate discrepancies and schedules.
Inspects and records incoming and outgoing orders for count, damage, dates, etc.
Brings any irregularities or other discrepancies/concerns to supervisor immediately.
Promotes and practices safety and good housekeeping.
Performs other tasks as assigned or dictated by position.
