About The Position

Works under the supervision of the Central Supply Manager. Receives, inspects, and delivers incoming materials, supplies, and equipment to Central Service, General Stores or to the user department as directed. Cheyenne Regional Medical Center was founded in 1867 as a tent hospital by the Union Pacific Railroad to treat workers injured while building the transcontinental railroad. Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED or Equivalent Certificate from an accredited program or higher
  • One year experience in receiving or related procedures
  • Frequent prolonged standing/walking
  • Pushes/pulls or moves/lifts heavy equipment supplies
  • Considerable reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching.
  • Familiarity with invoices, purchase orders, bills of lading, freight bills, etc.
  • Must read, write and comprehend English
  • Must be familiar with computer applications
  • Must know inventory and material management processes including purchasing and distribution
  • Must have effective trouble shooting and problem solving skills
  • Must be detail oriented
  • Must be multi-task oriented

Responsibilities

  • Receives incoming materials, supplies, and equipment.
  • Communicates discrepancies to purchasing and central supply manager.
  • Inspects shipments for damages and defects.
  • Ensures patient care equipment has been properly labeled and inspected.
  • Coordinates items for shipment by commercial conveyance.
  • Delivers items to requesting departments.
  • Maintains department records, reports and files as required.
  • Assists with care and maintenance of department equipment and supplies.
