About The Position

As a Shipping and Receiving Clerk, you are responsible for handling administrative tasks related to the shipping and receiving processes. This position ensures that all shipments and inventory transactions are documented, tracked, and processed accurately in our warehouse management system. You will play a key role in keeping operations running smoothly by supporting both the warehouse and the transportation team.

Requirements

  • 18 years old and legally authorized to work in the US
  • Comfortable sitting at a desk with a computer for 8-10 hours
  • Able to lift, pull, and push 50 pounds of weight by oneself
  • Comfortable working in various temperatures including cold environments (34-40 degrees Fahrenheit depending on site) and occasional freezer temperatures ranging anywhere from 0-10 degrees Fahrenheit for small periods of time
  • Able to work evenings and weekends
  • Ability to read and comprehend safety policies and operational manuals in English; ability to communicate effectively with team members and follow verbal instructions to ensure a safe and productive work environment

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • 6+ months of applicable administrative or office support experience in a shipping & receiving role, warehouse, or logistics environment
  • Previous experience in the food service industry
  • 6+ months of experience using technology such as smart phones and tablets, inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information
  • Familiarity with barcode scanning systems and inventory management tools
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and experience with warehouse management systems (WMS) or inventory software
  • The ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work effectively in team environments
  • Knowledge of food safety or logistics in the food industry is a plus
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and problem solve effectively

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and maintain accurate shipping and receiving records, including bills of lading, packing slips, and inventory receipts
  • Verify shipping information, ensuring all data is correct before processing orders for shipment
  • Create and print labels, shipping manifests, and other necessary documentation for outgoing shipments
  • Input and track all incoming and outgoing inventory transactions in the warehouse management system (WMS) to maintain up-to-date stock levels
  • Actively coordinate with the warehouse team, suppliers, and transportation carriers to ensure on-time deliveries and pickups
  • Actively communicate with the warehouse team, production teams, and other key stakeholders regarding shipment schedules, order updates, inventory status, and general follow ups
  • Process customer orders in WMS, ensuring all products are accounted for and properly prepared for shipment
  • Assist with tracking and troubleshooting issues related to shipments, including delays, damaged goods, or misrouted deliveries
  • Manage, file, and organize paperwork related to shipments, returns, inventory adjustments, and other documents
  • Assist in maintaining a clean, organized, and safe office space within the warehouse
  • Support training initiatives
  • Complete other duties as assigned
