About The Position

Cornerstone Building Brands is seeking a Shipping and Receiving Associate for the 1st shift. This role involves the safe and efficient handling of incoming and outgoing materials, ensuring product integrity, and maintaining warehouse standards. The associate will be responsible for various tasks including loading/unloading trucks, picking and assembling orders, inventory counts, and operating warehouse machinery. This position is based in Gaffney, SC.

Requirements

  • Previous Production/Manufacturing experience highly preferred
  • Forklift operation required
  • A valid driver’s license or successful medical clearance from a company-approved medical provider in lieu of a driver’s license
  • Must be able to pass Company forklift certification and re-certification every three (3) years, or sooner if there is a change in driving record or medical history
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Ability to work in a non-temperature-controlled manufacturing environment
  • Drive Company box truck, non CDL/DOT to in town warehouse to deliver and pick up products.
  • The ability to package parts using all types of packaging materials, metal bands, covering, or other methods to secure product in boxes for shipment.
  • The ability to read and comprehend instructions.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age to apply.

Responsibilities

  • Properly and safely load/unload delivery truck, trailer and/or customer vehicles while maintaining product integrity.
  • Read and understand customer orders, work orders, shipping orders or requisitions to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed and/or shipped.
  • Move materials and items from receiving or storage areas to shipping or to other designated areas with forklift.
  • Sort and place materials or items on racks, shelves or in bins per predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code.
  • Ensure warehouses are accessible and safe for salespeople and customer traffic.
  • Assemble customer orders from stock and place orders on pallets or shelves or relocate orders to a holding area or shipping department.
  • Mark materials with identifying information using appropriate methods.
  • Assist in counting physical inventory and responsible for accuracy in count.
  • Ability to operate machinery within warehouse.
  • Maintaining warehouse to company standards of safety and cleanliness.
  • Wear the proper safety equipment.
  • Comply & promote all environmental, health & safety programs, laws and regulations.
  • Assist, learn, and become efficient in every position within the Department.
  • May be assigned facilities maintenance duties as needed.
  • Stock finished goods from breezeway to primary using RF.
  • Shop FEDEX bulk report.
  • Load, drive product from main plant to Oxford and unload as needed.
  • Work OT when 1st and 2nd breezeway associates take vacation.
  • Work well with limited supervision.
