About The Position

As a Shipping & Receiving Associate, you will keep materials and equipment moving through our operation—from receiving mechanical and electrical components to stocking inventory, picking parts for production, staging completed equipment, and preparing finished machines and control panels for shipment. You will work closely with manufacturing, engineering, purchasing, and project teams to ensure the materials needed to build custom automation equipment are available when and where they are needed. You will also coordinate outbound shipments and help ensure completed equipment reaches customers accurately, safely, and on schedule. This is a hands-on position that requires organization, accuracy, safe material handling, and the ability to work comfortably around industrial equipment and large, custom-built assemblies.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in shipping and receiving, warehouse operations, inventory, material handling, or manufacturing
  • Ability to read and follow BOMs, pick lists, work orders, packing slips, and shipping documentation
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to inventory and shipping accuracy
  • Ability to communicate effectively with coworkers, carriers, and other internal teams
  • Ability to work independently, stay organized, and prioritize multiple material and shipping needs
  • Ability to safely operate material handling equipment after appropriate training
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday
  • Ability to regularly lift, move, and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to safely move larger or heavier equipment using appropriate material handling equipment
  • Ability to safely climb into and out of the back of trucks and shipping vehicles
  • Ability to work safely around manufacturing equipment, materials, crates, and large assemblies

Nice To Haves

  • Forklift experience preferred
  • Experience working with industrial equipment, electrical components, mechanical parts, or manufacturing materials is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Receive mechanical components, electrical parts, hardware, raw materials, and other items used in the production of automation equipment and control panels
  • Open crates, boxes, and other shipping containers and inspect incoming materials for quantity, condition, and accuracy
  • Compare incoming materials against purchase orders, packing slips, and other receiving documentation
  • Record quantities received and complete required receiving and inventory documentation
  • Identify and properly label materials so they can be easily located and accurately tracked
  • Read build packets, bills of material (BOMs), pick lists, and work orders to determine the materials needed for production
  • Move incoming materials from receiving to the appropriate stock, staging, or assembly areas
  • Organize mechanical components, electrical parts, fasteners, hardware, and other materials in racks, shelves, bins, and designated storage locations
  • Maintain accurate inventory locations and ensure materials are stored in an organized manner
  • Pick components and hardware from inventory to fulfill production build requirements
  • Stage materials for manufacturing and relocate completed equipment as production needs change
  • Move completed machines, robotic workcells, control panels, and other assemblies to designated holding or shipping areas
  • Prepare finished equipment and materials for shipment, ensuring they are properly identified, protected, packaged, and ready for carrier pickup
  • Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments with freight carriers
  • Schedule carrier pickups, confirm delivery windows, and track shipments
  • Verify shipping documentation and ensure orders are shipped accurately and on time
  • Safely handle large or crated equipment using appropriate material handling equipment
  • Operate and properly care for forklifts and other material handling equipment, as authorized and trained
  • Keep shipping, receiving, inventory, and staging areas clean, organized, accessible, and safe
  • Protect company equipment, inventory, tools, and other assets from damage or loss
  • Follow all company health, safety, and environmental requirements
  • Support other warehouse, shipping, receiving, and manufacturing activities as needed
