About The Position

The Shipper is responsible for moving product from packaging lines to trailers or staging areas, ensuring organization and accuracy in shipping processes. This role involves loading product, inspecting for damage, managing out-of-code items, and maintaining cleanliness of work areas. The Shipper also serves as a break person, unloads inbound products, completes necessary paperwork, and performs trailer checks. Communication with packaging employees and supervisors is crucial for accurate product counts and inventory management. Safety and sanitation are paramount, requiring adherence to all guidelines and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).

Requirements

  • Ability to move product (stacks or racks).
  • Ability to keep product staging areas and lanes organized.
  • Ability to load product from staging area to trailers.
  • Ability to ensure all trays are stacked properly and that no damaged product is shipped.
  • Ability to remove out-of-code product from the floor and label accordingly.
  • Ability to keep floor areas clean and organized.
  • Ability to serve as a break person for other shipping employees.
  • Ability to work on the platform, which includes unloading in-bound (purchased) product.
  • Ability to complete paperwork (load sheets, block sheets) with accuracy and neatness.
  • Ability to perform trailer checks, which includes sweeping and checking for damage.
  • Ability to document information and submit to department manager.
  • Ability to inform supervisors in advance of the floor inventory of empty trays and other equipment.
  • Ability to communicate with packaging employees to make sure product counts are correct on each truck.
  • Ability to maintain a safe working environment by following safety guidelines and reporting all incidents to management.
  • Ability to promote employee safety in all areas of operations.
  • Ability to maintain cleanliness of the work area.
  • Ability to follow proper G M P’s at all times.
  • Constant checking of date and price codes.

Responsibilities

  • Move product (stacks or racks) from packaging lines to appropriate trailer or staging area.
  • Keep product staging areas and lanes organized.
  • Load product from staging area to trailers.
  • Ensure all trays are stacked properly and that no damaged product is shipped.
  • Remove out-of-code product from the floor and label accordingly.
  • Keep floor areas clean and organized (includes Bond St. Platform, private label dock, D-Center loading area, empty tray area).
  • Serve as a break person for other shipping employees on various lines and/or platform.
  • Work on the platform, which includes unloading in-bound (purchased) product.
  • Complete paperwork (load sheets, block sheets) with accuracy and neatness.
  • Perform trailer checks, which includes sweeping and checking for damage.
  • Documents information and submits to department manager.
  • Informs supervisors in advance of the floor inventory of empty trays and other equipment.
  • Communicates with packaging employees to make sure product counts are correct on each truck (i.e. reconciling trailer paperwork to packaging wrapsheets).
  • Maintains safe working environment for all employees/contractors/visitors by following safety guidelines and reporting all incidents to management.
  • Promotes employee safety in all areas of operations.
  • Maintains cleanliness of the work area.
  • Follows proper G M P’s at all times.
