About The Position

SPIROL is a global manufacturer seeking an experienced Shipper for their 2nd shift in Danielson, CT. This role is responsible for preparing shipments of finished products and miscellaneous items, ensuring safe arrival at the destination using appropriate carriers. SPIROL provides engineered metal fasteners for various industries, including automotive, aerospace, and green energy.

Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent.
Must be able to lift up to 70 pounds repetitively.
Able to safely operate a forklift truck within 60 days of employment.

Responsibilities

Ensure all items prepared for shipment are properly identified on accompanying documentation.
Pack items in shipping containers to protect against damage during shipment, ensuring containers are constructed and secured properly for safe arrival.
Enclose all required documentation with the shipment, including packing slips, certifications, customer-required forms, and export papers.
Fill out all shipping destination paperwork completely and legibly, including bills of lading, carrier logs or forms, packing slips, and address labels.
Properly identify multiple shipping containers.
Use the customer-designated carrier when appropriate, or the preferred SPIROL carrier when no customer preference is indicated.
Determine the choice of non-designated carriers based on service area, package size or weight limitations, cost, and urgency of delivery.
Ensure all available shipments are made on or before the planned ship date.
Ship expedited orders as soon as they are received in the Shipping Department.
